Geminid Meteor Shower Reaches Its Peak This Week

The Geminid meteor shower, considered one of the most impressive of the year, is about to reach its peak activity. During the nights of December 13th and 14th, observers will be able to see up to 120 meteors per hour under ideal conditions. The Geminids are unique because they originate from an asteroid (3200 Phaethon) rather than a comet, like most other meteor showers. For the best viewing, it is recommended to find a dark location, away from city light pollution, and look northeast after 10 PM.
